City video surveillance network solution
Overall plan introduction
Network-based video surveillance systems generally include three parts.

The front-end part is the data acquisition system, including the video acquisition camera and the access network. The function of the access network is to connect the camera to the video surveillance system. The access network has LAN access, WLAN access, and xPON access methods according to scenarios.

The data transmission system completes the transmission of video data to the local or remote monitoring and application center. The transmission network includes the local IP network, and may also include the metropolitan area or wide area network.

The storage & application system completes the storage of video data, the forwarding of video streams and some intelligent business applications (such as the realization of alarm linkage).

This video surveillance basic network solution mainly focuses on the network access side and data transmission.

Video surveillance network access plan
Based on long-term efforts in the ICT industry, Zhongben can provide a rich and flexible video surveillance network access technology, including Ethernet access, wireless WLAN access, and xPON access and combination. It is recommended to choose and deploy an appropriate access solution to match its application scenarios.

1. LAN access

The LAN access network is easy to maintain and is suitable for high-density video surveillance access scenarios that are easy to wire, such as parks, commercial buildings, and stadiums.

The analog camera is connected to the switch through DVR/DVS or encoder signal conversion, and the digital camera can be directly connected to the switch through the Ethernet port. The switching network supports flexible tree, star, and ring networking to meet the needs of deployment scenarios.

(1) PoE switch

In order to reduce cable deployment and reduce deployment costs, it is recommended to use PoE switches to power terminal devices. Nakamoto PoE switches support 802.3af and 802.3at standards, and the single-port power supply capacity is up to 30W, which fully meets the power supply requirements of the camera. And it can support time-sharing power supply and on-demand power supply to realize intelligent management.

(2) Industrial scene

With the deepening of enterprise informatization, more and more video surveillance systems are deployed in enterprise production scenarios. The production environment of coal, electric power, petrochemical industry, iron and steel metallurgy and other industries, with a lot of dust, high temperature and high pressure, heavy thunder and lightning, and other harsh environments place very high requirements on network equipment. Therefore, the network deployment requires the use of industrial switches to resist various extreme environments.

Figure 2: Industrial environment
Zhongben industrial switch supports working environment temperature of -40~75°C, dual 12~48Vdc redundant power input and 1 relay alarm, supports electromagnetic interference prevention, and meets dust-proof, moisture-proof and fan-free industrial design, and supports the highest IP67 The protection level is fully capable of adapting to various extreme environments.

In addition to adapting to various extreme environments in hardware, Nakamoto industrial switches also support rich software features, support VLAN/GVRP, QoS, IGMP, Snooping/Query and LACP, support IPv6, rich security features, multiple diagnostic modes, and port mirroring , RMON, Trap, E-mail warning lights and other functions. At the same time, it supports the redundant ring network protocol, and the self-healing time can be up to 10ms to meet the high reliability requirements of industrial application monitoring scenarios.

2. WLAN access

With the evolution of technology and the development of the industry chain, WLAN has become a very common wireless video surveillance access solution due to its convenient deployment, short network construction period and scalability.

WLAN can be combined with switches to provide wireless video surveillance access for commercial buildings and office scenarios, and it can also provide long-distance video surveillance backhaul for linear and difficult-to-wire scenarios by means of bridging.

On the one hand, more and more video surveillance terminal equipment start to support Wi-Fi, wireless cameras, DVS directly or through WLAN CPE (CPE realizes the conversion of wired and wireless signals) access to the network, the overall solution deployment cost is low. The evolution of technology and the continuous improvement of speeds enable Wi-Fi wireless access to fully meet the bandwidth requirements of video surveillance networks, and even video surveillance services can share network resources with other services such as offices. Service isolation is achieved through VLANs, which greatly reduces network deployment costs. .

AP6010SN and AP6010DN are Huawei's beautiful standard indoor wireless 11n 2*2 MIMO AP (Access Point), support 2.4G frequency, comply with IEEE 802.11b/g/n standard, support Fit mode WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) access point equipment. AP6010SN/AP6010DN has complete business support capabilities, high reliability, high security, simple network deployment, automatic online and configuration, real-time management and maintenance, etc., to meet the requirements of indoor deployment network deployment.

On the other hand, WLAN network has become an important solution for long-distance backhaul of video surveillance. Nakamoto standard outdoor dual-band wireless APAP6510DN and AP6610DN support multiple networking modes such as point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, multi-point bridge cascade, etc., and provide flexible networking solutions. The dual-band AP uses 5.8GHz as a wireless bridge relay, and uses 2.4GHz to provide the end wireless camera access (or the AP directly connects to the wired camera). The bridge can support long-distance wireless video surveillance access with a single hop of up to 5km.

3.xPON access

xPON is suitable for pipelines, where the monitoring points are distributed linearly and relatively scattered, such as the video monitoring access of oil pipelines, highways, and coastal defense monitoring. The xPON solution supports tree-type, star-type, chain-type and other networking methods to achieve flexible long-distance (5-20km) video surveillance terminal access.

Figure 9: Video surveillance scene

Zhongben has designed different video surveillance network solutions that match the characteristics of the scene for different application scenarios. At the same time, various scene network solutions provide high-quality, reliable and secure video surveillance services by deploying hierarchical high-reliability design, comprehensive security design, and QoS guarantee for service monitoring based on hardware probes.

A. Campus-type scenarios: including venues, parks, buildings, etc., where the cable is easy to deploy, you can use LAN access, and where it is not easy to wire, use WLAN. By combining wired and wireless access methods, it provides rich and flexible access solutions for video surveillance points. For large-scale campus scenarios, it is recommended to deploy a 10-Gigabit campus network based on GE access, 10GE convergence and 40GE core design to provide high-density and large-bandwidth video surveillance service transmission capabilities.

B. Pipeline-type scene: pipeline-type monitoring of oil and gas pipelines, highways and railways is distributed in a straight line or a curve, the monitoring range is longer, and the local distribution is dense. For lines less than 10km, WLAN wireless backhaul is recommended to reduce cable deployment costs and easy deployment; for lines from 10km to 20km, xPON access is recommended; for lines from 20km to 55km, PON over OTN access is recommended.

C. Metropolitan area scenario: Provide flexible end-to-end access, convergence and backbone networks. High-performance routers are deployed in the metro backbone network; high-performance switches are deployed at the aggregation layer, and intercommunication is established through Layer 2 VPN technologies such as VPLS/VLL. Wireless access is deployed in surveillance areas where optical fibers are deployed. Cameras that do not support wireless functionality can access the network through AP bridging.
